Whats a good/fast first car

hey im 17 about 18 and ive got about 4000 dollars saved up. i live in the US and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a first car. i really like the 2.5RS and i think there in range but i just cant seem to find one worth it. i dont really want to be stuck with a civic. if anyone can help it would be great

DSM (Eclipse, Laser, Talon)
Prelude or Integra (not sure if these get away from not wanting a civic)
Older Mustang or Camaro (will be a stretch for 4k though to get a V8)
Older BMW 3 series, the 318ti looks odd, but is cheaper because of it.

Sadly people drifting in to trees have pushed the price of a decent 240SX up.

Just some, there are plenty more. It all depends on what you want. The 2.5RS is IMO the best looking Subaru ever sold in the US, if that is what you want just be patient with the hunt.

3000GT, 300zx, MA71 Supra, Series 4/5 RX7, Buick Roadmaster (cos v8 wagons are cool as and have lots of potential believe it or not), etc etc, basically if you can't find something cool from the late 80s-mid 90s for 4k, then you're not trying over there... good luck and have fun mate

Why would you want a fast first car. Get something that doesn't use much fuel, so you have more mone to buy a track toy. Stock CRX, do it, and if it isnt fast enough, K20 swap.

I'm sure you think you're a racecar driver, but trust me dude, you suck at driving, and you want to learn in something that isn't fast, but something that handles well.

Common misconception, these cars are a real hit with the ladies. Not to mention out handling pretty much everything out there.

There was a survey done in a *** mag where they voted on the ***est car, jeep wranger was the top and the Miata didn't even make the list. Too girly, apparently. Someone posted it on the Miata.net forum, lol.

Also didn't you leave the forum? It's been great here without you, mainly due to the absence of comments like that ^
