My BMW 318i

This is my BMW E36 318i, this is my first car as i am still on L plates but am currently making it ready for when i have my P's
Since buying it, I have had 4 New rotors and break pads installed, New break lines, a new headlight switch, a Kenwood Head unit, Ultra Blue 4200k headlights, New NGK twin electrode spark plugs, White interior lights and White number plate lights and a full service of course.

I brought the car without a road worthy, the previous owners failed to maintain the car properly.

After a good clean inside and out, i actually realized there was a fairly good paint job underneath, excluding the roof which had sun damage, the interior on the other hand wasn't quite as good, the seats were faded and the door trims were coming off the doors, and had a horrible green door which i will be dying soon and re fitting.

I have only owned the car for approximately 3 months so far, but with a bit of TLC I cant believe how much better it is running. I havn't done a lot to this car yet, as I have limited time and a limited budget, but I do eventually plan to do a leather conversion and a transmission conversion. Will keep the post updated with my progress.

Spent most of Monday pulling off the door trims, so i can re dye the door cards, restore the trims themselves and refit them with new door pins. Also discovered the cause of a loud rattling at idle in the electric window mechanics.

So much you can do to these cars. The m43 lumps are good engines too. Currently got 176,000 miles on mine without any major work *touch wood*

Yeaah havnt had any major problems with myn eathier, yeah my sister has a 318i compact which she will soon be replacing the engine and gearbox and putting a CA18DET engine and once she gets that im going to grab her old 5 Speed manual gearbox and get it fitted to myn.
