    Default SR20 engine coffee table

Before we moved into our new house afew months ago I decided i wanted to build an SR20 table.. now having a few spare engines laying around helps..

so i got a spare block oilpump waterpump empty head and cover and made a base from MDF :-

looking at it and having some feedback of facebook i decided the block alone would be better and a more usable height..

wanting to make the base abit more car and less DIY plus learn some new skills i bought some of everybody's favourite stuff, carbon fibre

so after some experimenting with flow coats, resins sandpaper and messing i got a relatively good finish on it

not bad for my first go at it i dont think..

The engine came back from being shot blasted ready for a coat silver

there are sticky pads that are exactly the same size as the head bolt holes so they keep it from moving about

you also carn't see them from the top looking down

This is very cool! You should try to make a few more and sell them. Why knows, you might make a profit!

If you park your car and don't check it out as you walk away, then you bought the wrong car.

It's a great first composite job. You should shot blast the rocker cover and repaint it red, and mount it on the top of the table for extra kW.
