My mazda protégé 5 project !

Hello, names Chad, I introduced myself before here, with a 1995 corolla!
Hence, this was sold to fund the car I was waiting for... i've been looking for a good all-around project car since june-july of 2010 (When I started watching MCM!) I craved the idea to have a project car and to love a car THAT much! The corolla didn't bring me this feeling... I needed something.. more sporty! And since I had now the money.. after so many months of weekend work (Full time college student, hehe)
Im kind of shy on the mods because #1, I got ruined when buying this... but was TOTALLY worth it, i love it so much

    So heres my brand-new used Mazda protege5 2002 !

Had to spend 600$ on brand new stockies + winter tire combo... didnt expect this expense :/
And I bought it a brand new battery too!

    Stockies + sport tires

Interior is so clean!.. My first manual car

    Foggy headlights... :s

The car is amazingly filthy.. Its winter here in Quebec and they're very nasty... Thats why Ill only thoroughly clean/polish/wax when spring hits (Following the MCM vid ofcourse!)

Car has only 145 000 Km's... so little and the engine runs very smoothly

Dirty engine bay... this is going to get cleaned up as soon as snow melts

Car is a bit rusty... but its only superficial dommage, this is going to get fixed with sanding/BOG

Alot of mods are going to happen when I get a bit of money from working part-time and some more time... here's a list (feel free to propose mods to me, ill add them to the list!)

    [√] Lose the bonnet deflector
    [√] Steamclean + Vacuum Interior
[√] Clean headlights with Turtle Wax kit
[√] Stock red to blue LED conversion in the whole car

    [] 1-DIN headunit
    [] Sub + Amp setup
    [√] Remove side moldings
[√] Cold air intake (K&N, AEM or INJEN)
    [] V-Power NGK spark plugs
    [√] Rear wiper delete
    [] Seafoam motor treatment
[] Full service (Synthetic oil, MAF clean).. im sitting on a low 23mpg right now
[] Take care of the supercificial body rust
    [] NGK wires
    [] Steamclean/wash the engine bay
[] Paint calipers (red or silver)
    [√] Mazdaspeed Door sills
    [√] Mazdaspeed pedals

    [] Plasti-dip the stock rims
    [] Mazdaspeed front lip
    [] Chargespeed front lip
    [√] Mazdaspeed plate frame
    [] Plasti-dip the rear valence
    [] Get the windows tinted
[] Paint the trims and headliner BLACK
    [] 1.8L coilpack conversion
[] TWM shortshifter + gear knob
    [√] Sickspeed Carbon fiber antenna
    [] DaveB Cluster rings
    [√] Dual sickspeed Supertone hellahorns
    [] Gas hood dampers
    [] Clear bumper blinkers
[] Drop on coilovers + roll fenders

** I may forget some here... Gonna go back and edit when I have new ideas

This is basically it for the moment.. this thread is gonna be updated bit by bit.. I hope I can see the progress I made in a long-time period. Cheers MCM

    Lost the hood deflector today
I hate hood deflectors, they're style killers!
I was scared I couldn't remove it without having holes in my bonnet, because my old 1995 corolla had one, and it was beeing held in by screws.. this one didn't *win*

Funny enough, I washed the sh****t out of my car from all the salt we've had this winter!

I remember reading/responding to one of your threads where you wanted to know what you should do in regards to what car you should own! As I can see here, it worked out nicely

As another mazda owner, major props to you

Stick to that list and you'll be on your way, although the salt will never go away...never...

          Looks nice, but filthy haha.

One tip, don't use armor all, they aren't great quality and use silicone in their products and will shorten the lifespan of your plastics/leather so on. Look for stuff that's silicone free

                              Opinions differ.. :P
After debating going for K&N or AEM intakes, i decided to make my own.
                              Ordered this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/360380937911...m=360380937911
And when it gets shipped, im goin to order the right size AEM filter.
Thinking about painting the strut bar silver too.
