  • Fully wooden steering wheel :/

Hi all , I got given this wooden steering wheel today. No info on it . It's all wooden and has a steel back plate for a boss kit. It come with a boss kit that looks like it will fit a boat or possibly an old car but I think it might be a wood work project that some one has made.

Has any one seen something like this ??

    Thanks in advance

I think I would go with the boat accessory. Might cop some flack from the police mans if it isn't ADR.

Yeah, you don't wanna smack your face into that thing in an accident. It isn't fully wooden however it appears to have a metal skeleton; it would need some flex to keep it together and hold it from snapping. Wood doesn't have the ability that metal does to flex and return to shape.

I wouldn't put it in my car.

na it's not going in my car.. It's only the back plate that's steel, the rest is wood.

If there is no skeleton, then it most likely is a hobby wheel or a boat wheel, even then newer boat wheels have steel skeletons now.

I'd go with boat wheel. Get a boat and then it'd be cool....

I dislike wooden steering wheels because i have never had a car with working air con as soon as your hands sweat they are ridiculously slippery
