  • What did I buy? seriously - Mystery $5 restoration

I just bought this from the tip for $5... I'll probably just keep it as something to fiddle with when I get bored, But!!! I Legitimately have no idea what I've just purchased. So if someone could tell me that'd be great

I think its a honda cub with a bigger or upgraded motor and a bar swap. the thing is of course an absolute junk. Best bet is to pull the plug if its in there and boil the motor in used motor oil for like a day before you even attempt to work on that part. Id strip it right down but keep at it because projects like this are easy to fall on the way side. If you can get a tub of water with citric acid boiling you can dip the frame and get rid of the rust then prime whats left. Would be fun to weld up that rotten frame and get it nice again. It is way cheaper to get another frame as I can just ship you a free one if you pay shipping but I doubt that's your goal. If you need parts I can find them. Also cheap vinyl foam and some staples will fix the seat. Could be fun.
Permanent rev limiter = the crank popping out to say ELLO!!!!

I think if you stop the rust weld on it and find a cheap motor it could be fun. I always wanted to do one buit now I got a kart a bike a car and no space.

EDIT: Like I posted before in tech. Boiling citric acid baths strip rust like a boss!!
