    .
    Custom built H1 with duramax engine isn't expensive car because used H2 Hummers are relatively cheap in EU.

    We're in Australia, at the time of writing, none are listed for sale, except N15 Pulsars. And that's like.... 5 in the country for sale.
    I think you're taking the norm for your area and not considering this is shot and hosted in Australia.

    it sounds more like cars are expensive where you live, rather than they're spending more locally.

    Besides, I did admit that they are moving up somewhat;
    but I also defended that the mods they do, apply to the 'base model' just as well as the more expensive 'special version' they personally buy.
    BRZ mods apply to 86GT
    STI mods apply to GC8\GF8
    Both cars are about the $4-$12k mark.

    As I said, their special versions are worth more, but the MODS are 100% compatible with the $5k base model GC8 as well.

    To quote myself;

    MR2 repair tips will apply to most rear-engine front rad cars of the time.
    180SX repair applies to almost all S chassis and SR20

    In the last couple of years we've had TWO $500 lancers.
    One got a $300 engine swap, and a $1k set of coilovers. (and a custom turbo, fair, but hey, just don't do that bit if you're broke).
    We had a SAAB which range from literally free (because they often dont sell for YEARS) to about $2k depending on condition.
    We had a $1000 Cressida with a $500 Barra engine (and once again, a turbo, but that's your call).
    We had a $500 Mira (with a few grand of parts from Japan, true, but once again, if you don't want to do that bit, just don't).

    Regardless, I just had a look.
    The cheapest Exige on Carsales is $65k.
    While that's still 'a lot of money', it's far from outside possibility of their core 25-34yo Audience, if that's what the person is saving for.
    Most people take a few years with the car loan.

    And before you try to call bullshit on those sort of savings, my family has saved up $50k or so in just a few years for my eye surgery; It's "inconvenient" to do (baked beans for meals, and no going out) but if it's something you really want, it's far from impossible.

    This channel has always been about the mods, and learning new skills, that's basically it.
    It's not about the car, it's about what they do to them.

    Actually;
    Even using your prices, not much you've listed is above $20k AUD.
    So still very 'affordable' over the life of ownership.
    Yep, you might not be able to have a spare $20k to drop on a project, but in regards to buying an 86 or a GC8 or an MR2, or even the Yaris, as you said;
    The mods were only $7k! Makes the total project out to about $10k, quite approachable if you wanted to do it.

    I think you're focusing on the cars and not the mods.
    I really don't understand the refutation...

    You said than ChrisFIx cars are expensive, and I say they aren't.

    The only expensive one was the Maserati he bought for his father, which wasn't featured in any video.

    The Hummer H1 was never sold to the public in Europe, so only units around are military surplus, or imported ones, and the prices are usually high, but the cheap H2 ones go for 5-10K €, so it's not really an expensive car.

    You are missing the point, i think, than the Lotus is a weekend car, and you will also need a daily, so you will spend more than 65K (say about 100K, at least).

    Also, than the Lotus cars are famous by their unreliability, so the 65K exige will have some issues, and Lotus parts and services aren't cheap (even Moog went to Lotus specialists to fix and mod his car).

    Only that digital dash he swapped in the second video cost 1.800 US$.

    When I said than NX mods would be interesting because there are a lot of FWD SR20DE powered cars around (many more than RWD ones) you dismissed that, and you are now trying to defend the latest videos with that same argument.

    While the exact cars they own, are often a special edition and a little more expensive (BRZ vs 86), overall their market value has remained about the $5-20k mark, which is an achievable budget for anyone with full time employment, even if it's over the course of ownership ($5k a year for 4 years, for example).

    A 1.500$ 5th gen Mustang is a expensive car? Really?

    Most of his recent mod videos are over this car.

    Even in Europe, where aren't common, they go between 3.000 and 10.000 €.

    He also have a CRX Del Sol (An VTi one goes for about 6.000-8.000 € here in Spain).

    And a 90s Mazda B3000 (Ford Ranger). You can find a B2500 (The B3000 was never sold here) for less than 4.000 €.

    Try to find a good unit of the Subaru WRX STI for less than 15.000 €... not even in the UK (30-40K is more likely).

    I won't even go on how much would cost to buy a Nissan 240Z here in Europe (A LOT!)...

    As Karl Pilkington would say "Bullshit!".

    If you want a 'how to turbocharge your car video' on the NX coupe, then watch the MX5 series, or any of the other video's where they mess around with turbo's.
    I don't want to turbocharge a 100NX, because it can't be done in Spain... Trying to legally add a turbo would cost 3 or 4 times what the car cost, and I'm not talking about the parts.

    I'm still trying to decide between the dutch made Volvo 480 Turbo and the Nissan 100NX, anyways.

    Maybe you don't give a damn, but them probably want to get as many subscribers and views as they can.

    I may be assuming they're long term fans, thats fair.

    Lots of their viewers aren't from Australia now, and I'm certain than a big part of them haven't turned 30 yet.
    I'm not assuming anything here, thats public data.

    https://www.noxinfluencer.com/youtub...W2J3A?tab=subs

    Fair'nuff, thats 25-34, but still at 25 you've normally managed to secure some type of job.
    Less than 20% are at the age that they can drive, yet below 25.

    As I pointed out, with a few exceptions for their personal cars, the project cars haven't really gone up in value much anyway.
