  • Alex_S - CRX ED9

    Hey, im Alex, 17 years old from sweden! Bought this Crx ED9 back in april ; ). The condition of the car isn't the best at the moment, but thats about to change!. The upside of it is that almost everything in the engine is changed.

    Plans:
    Fixing all the rust [/] - in progress
    Repaint everything, probably gonna do either championship white or R81 red
    Coilovers []
    De-cat pipe []
    15" rims [X] - MiM 7" wide ET37
    Engine swap ; K-series or B18 []

    Will add more to the list as time passes.

    Same day as i brought it home.

    Was out to the garage
    As the coolant leaks i tore down the entire front of the car pretty much xD, im also gonna change the hood latch wire, and latch itself. Also i've replaced pretty much every vaccuum hoses in the engine bay.
    (kass bild (Y) )

    And as i had the cooler of, i thought i'd take care of some of the rust that had started to come.

    Before

    Result, ofcourse i did the same to the otherside

    As the old radiator was leaking, i thought i'd fit a new one, the junkyard only had EG's so i bought a half size rad. Was thinking of cutting the front bar but nah, i managed to make it fit with a slight gangsta lean

    Fabricating a bracket......

    and done.. kinda. Not the prettiest thing but sure does the job!

    I then fired up the engine, topping up coolant etc. And ofcourse a setback, car only runs on 3 cylinders, it kinda "glitches" as sometimes while driving it'l run on 4 then 3 etc.
    * 9 - CYP - Cylinder position censor
    * 16 - Fuel injector
    I have fixed the CYP error code, but i still get the Fuel injector code, no CEL though but im not sure if the old owner has removed the bulb to it or something. I also managed to fix the hood latch problem, i managed to make a EG hood wire fit

    I've started on the rims im gonna use, not sure which brand they are, but they're italy made. 15", 7" wide, ET37 im gonna fit some 165/50/15 tyres to them later on :thumbup:

    How the most of the rims are looking right now

    Just started sanding and fixing this one, it got done by the time i went home. will continue on the rest next week!

    Taken the car down to my school, haven't done much with the car itself. But making progress with the rims. They were in such bad condition i had to sand blast them. Said and done sand blasted them, Then i put a thiiiick layer of sand-primer

    Then i tore off the sideskirts and this is what i saw (Y)Not that i expected less, but atleast welding is fun right

    Today i've done alot, the rims are done. I've also started the bodywork some.

    Basecoat:

    Clearcoat:

    And ofcourse some welding

      Thanks!! well, the bodywork overall is in okay shape, theres some rust bubbles spread out pretty much all over the car. Probably due to a bad paintjob thats on the car right now, old owners probably didnt prep the body too well. But the only part where its really bad is what you see here on the pics, same on both sides. But atleast its an easy fix! already fabricated new metal for the left side so just gonna weld it there. Then the same on the other side! 30 min job for me tops

                    Done a little more today, left side is pretty much done. just rustproofing, basecoat and paint left. :-d

                    tomorrow i'm starting the right side, i should be able to get everything done there aswell. IF i have access to the lift the entire day. Otherwise i'll start fixing the hood and welding shut the holes on the trunk :mrteeth:

                              Update! i've now welded together the entire right side pretty much only some small places left, so whats left is grind down the welds and begin the prep work for paint. Unfortunately i wont get to work on the car more until next tuesday
