  • KEN & MARY GT-R-KPGC110 replica

Through a good friend of mine, I found out about a GENUINE one owner 1973 Datsun 240K GL 2 door coupe in white with only 51,000k’s on the clock and the history to prove it! This will be the perfect basis for a GT-R-KPGC110 replica, most commonly referred to as "Ken & Mary". Until the car arrives from QLD, this is the only picture I have

I searched high and low for the right car; I have been all over the country trying to find the “right one”. I almost gave up hope until I found this car. I am a very meticulous person and although it won’t be a fast build, I can assure you that it will definitely be a quality one! The car has never had an accident and never had any repairs done which is what drew me in. It’s not museum quality but it is a well maintained 240k with a genuine history and I believe that it is the perfect starting point for a GTR rebuild. The owner, who is now 91, bought the car brand new in 1973 from Nissan and has done a fantastic job keeping it in such good condition. He was sincerely distraught when he was signing over the papers but I assured him that I’d give it a good home.
Here’s a picture that I took while I was in QLD finalising payment and paper work.

The car will be picked up tomorrow by the logistics company and should be here on Friday. The plan is to enjoy it a little before I take it off the road for a full restoration.

Sounds like a fantastic build, and I bet the old guy will have more than a few tears in his eyes when it leaves his driveway.

    Keen to watch this progress

I love the 240Ks. I'm gonna be watching this one for sure. If you're anything like I was, you'll find it hard to mess with such a pristine car, but once you get started, it gets much easier. The 240K is on top of my list for my next build. Did anybody say RB30 swap?

I used to have one of these in the 4 door in the white and am so sorry i ever sold it, it was my 2nd car i ever owned and had a 280 engine in it. My father-in-law had the coupe with a 240 turbo that outran most things in it day. These are great cars and i have been looking for another one aswell but can't find one as clean as this anywhere. I think Moog has a soft spot for them aswell.

What a great car. I don't know much about it but I love the muscle car-like styling. The front end reminds me of a Dodge Challenger, but the rear is unique, just like all GTR's. Also it isn't as much of a gas hog like the classic cars we have here.

Oh I'm keeping an eye on this... Love the old Datto's

Keep us updated! To find one with one owner and such low km's is such a score.
