(NOTE: pics fixed and some added )

So lady's and gentlemen I present to you my 1978 honda civic

well I wanted a project car that i had no idea about i wanted something fun to drive something old school something that you never really see round any more so i thought to myself "hey why not a civic" and i found one, that one, i almost didnt get it twice as i lost the guys number and then i didnt have the money for it any more but tax rolled around and I bought this sexy beast off ebay over the weekend all the way in ipswich :/ i swear i almost died twice getting there haha, So there is alot of surface rust and a few little rust bubbles here and there nothing to really worry about but it is in the areas that it is in is a pain in the arse so over the next few weeks in my spare time after work im going to be doing ALOT of sanding, priming and filling and lets hope i dont have to weld anything in it ha!

So far the little list i have made to be done before i get a RWC is the following
    • fix rust
    • service engine
    • replace all liquid with new flashy stuff
    • if needed upgrade bushes and suspension
    • new carpet

After I get all that done its time for a RWC to see if the boss man can find anything else that would need to be replaced or fixed up.
so this build is going to take some time but time is all I have after work when its all RWC and registered its time to strip it all back and start painting, im not 100 % sure on what colour but i have been told by the Mrs that I should paint it a deeper blue.

Any and all help on this project will be grately useful, so now I leave you with the damage haha this is all the rust I can see that needs to be fixed :S I just hope that is all there is.

i dont like the looks of that one.

Lucky for me the guy I bought it from had cut and welded all the nasty rust out so thats a bonus for me, I will try and update as much as I can but im doing all this from a iphone so yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh I i dont get much time on the interweb.

Well day two into my restoring and I've come to a complete stop ..... I forgot to do the number one thing when checking out a old car and look under the carpet ...... So I got home and went to move the civic and felt that the carpet was wet ... Pulled it all out to find lots of little rust holes all in the curves from the floor to the pilers and in the foot well, I also found out the rust in the roof only looks like surface rust but is in fact eating away under the water channel :/ so I am now trying to find somewhere where I can swap shells over as I have found another shell just about rust free so I'm not regretting this buy just should of looked haha but all said and done I've riped the carpet out and my hair hahah

Beautiful. Old Hondas have such a lovely style to them. Good luck on the rust work man. Rust is just the saddest thing to see on any car. It truly is the Cancer of car issues . Hope you can turn it around and turn this into a savage old school ride. After all, old school = old's cool .

Well lady's and gents my luck has turned around I've made a deal with the devil and have a location with everything I need and the know how to restore the civic, I am unable to say where it is going but it'll be getting the right treatment we are going to get what I am now calling the civic "the shit brick" to the point of RWC and registered and then that is where the fun starts me and the mad scientist are talking about this new thermal paint that changes from white to black depending on the heat and engine swap, we are thinking something from a Honda city sport or a rotary what ever we do it might just be the only one of its kind in Australia if not the world but this all starts in about two weeks so in two weeks I'll be posting the start of something awesome so can't wait haha

I'll take a few photos when I get home for before and after shots and yes the thermo paint sound mean but costly as so if I can get my hands on some I might only be able to paint the bonnet or something
