  • Well, a 35 year old clutch is likely to have some issues really isn't it. Glad it's not costing too much to put right.

                  • I'm loving the colour, but I'm curious about the shine of the clear coat. Did you go for a Matt version of clear?

I saw it was 2k, and when I painted in 2k clear, the shine right out of the gun was like a mirror.

                    Apologies for the ugly mug.

How much thinner did you use in the clear? Not using enough can give you a orange peel effect that'll take away the shine.

It can all be sanded and buffed to a very nice shine though. Get a liquid buffing compound, and a variable speed sander/polisher. Just be careful with the sander/polisher, too much speed will make you cry at the paint job.

                    • it's a standard gloss clear and I used 20% thinners and did a heap of coats it's pretty shiny now but when I buff it, it'll look so god damn sexy and on that note small update later tonight

                      • looking great! you plan on keeping the wheels or finding something originalish, or racecar?

original- i think if you painted them all nice n shiny and stuff, then added a chrome dress ring thing it would look alright?

                        or racecar

so while i was getting some welding in the back done i thought it would be a good idea to get my rear windows in

                          JDM AS FU#K

Just a little bit of welding

then after 6 months of looking i found a god damn windscreen ..... WITH TINT!!!!! the factory ones never had tint or the black boxing around the edges

now this is a pretty shit photo but i havnt been home in the last 3 weeks with out it raining or dark but i manage to get the water run offs sealed up and will be ready to paint when i get a chance haha

THEN THIS CAME IN THE MAIL

full of joy i read this thing 2 times in one night ahaha

smallest release bearing i have ever seen haha

so this is all right now, trying to find a spare few hours to get new rubber trims and the front and rear windscreen installed, once that is done i'll be able to start installing the new clutch
