S13 restore and respray (Garage style)

Turned out good, just needs a cut and buff on the clear! Once that's done, it'll be shiny as. Did you watch CustomSprayMods on youtube? Dave made a video on how to spray-paint your whole car in your backyard, it may help you.

Yeah, i did watch that episode but conveniently enough, it was after i had finished painting.
Hopefully doing the cutting and buffing tomorrow along with cutting the carpet to fit and piecing back the interior. Not sure if i'll manage to get it all done tomorrow as i forgot about the dash which needs to be sanded and resprayed.
Rego has run out anyway so i'm in no real rush.

Just so we're on the same page, i'm talking about the front bar with the middle chunk missing from it. The last picture, not the one on the car.

Cut, buff and it's completely done.
It turned out real nice.
Speedo is now working. Indicators stopped though, lulz. It'll be done reaaaal soon now.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it's pretty far from professional but hey, i did it in my backyard with absolutely no experience. I'm pretty happy that it didn't turn into a clump of shit.

This is what i started with. Floats some people's boats but i'm not a big fan of body kits and what not so when it got hit, we got rid of the body kit.


It then looked like this for a while.

This is what it looked like when my dad tried his hand at painting. It wasn't that bad but wasn't very good either.
The front bar was also shit.
After that the bonnet got painted black, very badly, for who knows what reason.

I've been a bit quiet the past few days but rest assured, i'v been a busy little bee.
Current updates:
I had a lot of electrical problems
I now only have one electronic problem and that is that the stereo refuses to turn on, as well as the amp. But that's relatively minor.

Today during my uni break, i decided to come home and do a bit of interior work. Probably need to redo some of these things and actually sand them etc, but it turned out alright.






Got the cars rego sorted out today so now it's just a matter of putting the final touches on it and it's ready to drive.

Edit: Yeaaaah, so we drove it.
I was wrong about not having any electrical problems.
The right indicator stops blinking if the headlamps are on and your pressing the brake. I should probably look into that one.
Speedo stopped working...again and I still can't figure out the stereo.
Ahh, the joys of owning a 21 year old car.

Know how they say when you're buffing, you shouldn't put pressure on the buffer? Yeah, here's why you don't do that.
