Haha, thanks. You'll probably hate me before you thank me.

It's definitely a fun experience though and i can't wait until i get to paint something again.
If you do go ahead and paint your car, make sure you at least do it somewhere relatively clean. Doing it in the carport at the back of my house definitely wasn't the best idea i've had. It turned out alright but there were a lot of avoidable flaws.

So today i took the starter motor out, took it apart and gave it a clean. You can't really tell from the pictures, and i foolishly didn't take any of the internals, but it was a hell of a lot cleaner afterwards.

    After:

    Unfortunately, car still doesn't start.
Looks like i'll have to go starter motor shopping next pay.

I assume you're talking about the rocker cover, in which case, gun-metal would be an awesome colour.
I was thinking of going it white with black lettering. It'd kinda match my wheels.
Only bad thing about that is that it'd get super dirty really quickly.

Scrub them up and give them a coat of gunmetal? or charcoal.
Maybe even go out there red, blue, orange? cheap and easy

Love the paint man, it is very satisfying getting your paint to the stage where you can look at it and just say ahh I did that haha, bad thing is you will notice every flaw, but people will still think it looks great haha keep up the good work!

Thanks man, it's always encouraging to hear people congratulate your work. It definitely gives me motivation to go work on it some more.
I haven't updated in a while so may as well do that.
For those that don't know, my car is broken at the moment. My guess is the starter motor is f*cked and hopefully it's nothing more serious. I've taken this opportunity to take out the battery loom and do it up properly, as it was pretty dodgy before hand.

I, for some stupid reason, thought it'd be easier to take off the inlet manifold and take the starter out through there instead of just getting under the car. This was untrue.
However, how badass would ITBs look on this:

Also used a bit of steel wool to clean a bit of the rocker cover to see how it looked:

It looked good. Will do the entire thing soon enough.

I'll be working all day today unfortunately, so i wont have a chance to work on the car again until tomorrow-ish. Hopefully i can get the car going again soon.

There's something about making your car shiny that's ridiculously satisfying.

My phone's about as good as it gets unfortunately. If my dad brings his DSLR next time he's over, i'll take a picture. It's pretty much the same as the picture in real life though. It went from that textured vinyl to a matte black though. Looks pretty cool, even better than the original, in my opinion.

I hope funds free up for spending on this beast soon, and you can get the needed pieces of the puzzle to get this thing rollin through a local industrial district near you!!!

    Thanks for the kind words
I hope even more than you that i'll get some money rolling soon. It feels like i've been broke all year, which is why this build hasn't really been progressing much lately.

It was a driving test. I failed because i missed a sneaky stop sign that was in a really shitty position, hidden behind trees. I noticed the back of it when i did my shoulder check and was like "Fuaaarrrk". Pretty pissed off.
Especially seeing as they take a good month and a half to book.

So, if you don't mind me asking, what happened on your test? Was it a written test or driving? I wont lie, I failed my first driving test. I tried to make a left turn (being the US we drive on the right side for who knows what reason...but you guys know that) and cut it too close to someone coming the other way. When I pulled the wheel away from the instructor to finish the turn I'd started...well needless to say I had to do it over haha. Same instructor a week later and I passed no problem. Can't believe that was already 5 years ago.
