A friend over in WA got a KE70 for $250, got home and found out it had a turbo 1jz in it! He found burn marks on it when he took it out though. so it may or may not be stuffed.
I do know of a very similar story like that, guy managed to get an old lady to drop the price of her sons KE70 to 800 bucks, that was after inspecting it and finding an SR20DE, Not quite as good as yours but still a pretty awesome find.

Should've nabbed FST02J's Silvia, Monty. He's still trying to get rid of it, CA18DE manual, unreg. 2-2.5k I'm amazed you even have any money left though tbh, seems like every pic or status on facebook involves a trashed sprint car haha

awsome ke70 as well mate there a great drift platform, one of my best mates is building one now so far it already runs a semi complete s13 front sub frame s13 coilovers and castors not sure if he has done any tie rods or ends yet, but his 70 also has a 4agze with the map type loaded up with a garrett t25 should go pretty good i love ke70s

Re-read what I posted, I didnt mean AE86 stuff was cheap, hell, I doubt its cheap in Japan these days. I was referring to the S13 comment above its a dime a dozen in AUS and everybody makes it.

However in saying that, local kits ie AJPS or Shockworks have some incredible hachi stuff for reasonable prices.

I doubt CA/SR would be TOO much heavier than a 4AG and spring rates can be chosen for the most part. Most people run a 8kgFR 6kgR for ke/ae drift even with CA/SR, bolting a new engine in isnt going to change the fact steering geometry and various other bits and pieces are completely different. In saying that lots of people run the S13 stuff and seem happy enough, just a lot of guys complain about it afterwards.

              Why not 4A btw?

For the price I've picked up the CA conversion, it would be silly not to. And a lot easier to get more power out of it in the future.

                        Initially:
-Strip interior, take out all the rubbish, looms, sound deadening.
-Install AE71 Pedal Box + CMC
-Get the 4AGE running in the car
                        -S13 LCA's and Coilovers etc.
                        -AU Springs in the rear.
                        -Install Fixed back bucket seat

                        Long Run:
                        Full CAMS cage,
                        CA18DET/SR20DET
                        R31 Diff
                        S13 subframe(Required for SR/CA Conversion)

                        Well Those plans changed quick...

                        UPDATE:

-4AGE setup is sold. Motor box etc etc..
                        -CA18det Purchased.
                        -S13 Cross member/LCA's/Coil overs Acquired
                        -Fixed Buckets acquired (pair)

So basically i changed my mind on getting the 4AGE running. Mainly cause i had a CA come up at a price too good to refuse!

So sold the motor for a profit on what i paid for the whole setup! But that didn't come without its drama's..

Pick up the CA soon. Just need to organise a time. Will be a stock setup. Dont need anything crazy. 150rwkw is all I'm aiming for!

Took the 4AGE motor out today, inc 4A member, and my mate brought over my S13 one, Bolts pretty much STRAIGHT in. #Winning.! Just need to elongate the holes. No biggy.

Get the other fiddly bits tomorrow.

                        Still need to get:
-S13 Steering Rack (anyone got one)
                        -Solid engine mounts
                        -Tail shaft
-Custom exhaust (straight pipe dumped out the side after drivers door)

                        Long run:
                        -Cage
                        -R31 Diff.

Also purchased guard mirror's for extra JDM spec. And roof basket for USDM swag? haha.

Considering buying some Sunrayiser 4WD rims and getting them redrilled to suit. 15x10 FTW. Drift spec much?

                        Anyways.. Pics!

As it sat 2 days ago..

                        Old 4AGE

                        Today!

                        S13 Cross member bolted in!

                        Random Photochop!

So yeah, this is where it is at atm...

                        Thoughts/suggestions welcomed!

                        AND finally....

dude.... I reackon you should put up a little more detail on what it took to drop the s13 crossmember in, although said to be simple, because I may just help a friend do the same if its THAT easy? the only problem i would have is finding a rwd box to suit the ca18 here in NZ ( on the cheap... i mean ), but nice work so far, I love KE70's just never had one personally, I hope to be doing a thread on a Ford Escort Panel van soon myself, I wunna drop in a 2l Cortina engine ( easy eh? )

Mate it was litterly bolt straight in!

Just elongate the holes in the xmember/drill them out larger, say by 2-3mm.. And its good to go.

Just need a s13 steering rack and modify the KE colum to suit. Not a big job.

Other then that its all pretty much bolt in using s13 stuff as normal.

Im undecided as to if i will put AE86 cambertops on my S13 coilovers so it uses the facotry strut holes, OR i weld a plate and redrill.
