with valves, rocker assembly, gaskets, springs, labor, etc should be all under $1200
the hi-lift roller rockers alone are $500

i would look into getting a conversion done if i was you.
reason behind me saying that, if you can get someone to weld the engine mounts in ( control arms ect if needed )
might be worth spending money on a newer powerful engine, against upgrading current one? if you catch my drift haha.
save money in the long run?

              anyway have fun
Easier said than done. I suggested it before but I know how hard an engine conversion is to do. I am 5 years into my mini engine conversion and its only just back on its wheels. Its yet to run. Also there are few engines with gearboxes that will fit in a mini engine bay without cutting the inner wings out. A mini's gearbox sits underneath the engine not to the side of it like most modern cars.

Princess. If I were you I would look at a megajolt to go with the carbs. Your distributor will be one of the next things restricting you tuning wise. I would also look at an X pin diff (you said you were looking at an LSD already). As I said before. 100 bhp is generally regarded as the limit on the gearboxes. It is usually the diff that goes first from what I have seen.

              • i agree its a complete pain in the rear to do a engine swap thought it might be worth looking into before dropping a few grand on a engine, thats all
eitherway little beast be nice to see what can be done, always wanted one... haha someday >.<

                • go the car back from the mini specialist, the high lift full roller rockers on top of the rather lumpy cam make for a decent power increase, it also sounds alot meaner and louder. next week i shall hopefully get the 45 weber and take out the 3/4 of the rear boxes

no megajolt here, i like keeping it old school :P my dizzy should be up to the job as its one of the best electronic ones on the market, and im not running a a vacuum advance cause i dont see the point. i will be stepping up to a more powerful coil tho to ensure more spark. discussed the getting an LSD with my engine builder, will be done whenever i take the engine out again.

                  thanks man

after all that its just a matter of replacing my roof vent as it rusted apart along the hinge, getting the sway bars and a set of decent tyres

                      • little update for now, BIG update wednesday.

pulled out the massive sub box that was heavy as dark chocolate fudge, handles so much better, will be integrating the new sub box into the existing setup, using my old fusion power plant sub, should only add another 10kg tops, considering the big box was over 60kg its a fair trade.

on wednesday im getting the 45 dellorto and 60.000V coil installed and tuned, i have never tuned a dellorto or weber so i want its initial tune to be perfect. i got a used manifold that happened be ported to suit the 45 and the intake ports
now the decision lies on what size trumpets to run for show, and what air filter to use :/

with tax return time coming up i have to make a decision to get a new set of rims 10x6 -7 offeset (current ones are 10x5 no offset) with a set of A008's or overhaul the braking system with a rear disc conversion and dual master cylinder adjustable brake bias box. decisions... wish i could do both

                        what i already have

                        what im looking at getting
                        10x6 -7 rim.jpg

also added braided brake lines to the sway bars and roof vent ill be importing from the UK

                        • Your current wheels look good, and brakes are kinda useful. Personally I would go brakes.

That's what I never understood about you audio guys - Speed and handling is far more fun than loud music I'm glad you made the trade. I know when I ditched the ~50kg of audio gear and wood from the Cuore, the difference in acceleration and handling was pretty amazing. I'll never go back.

You'll end up with more lip than me on your wheels... I might have to go get some 15x8 +0 rims to compete Those rims look awesome.

                            • I'm with Jenga about stereos. I've spent the best part of 3k on mine and I probably won't be bothering to even put a normal radio in it.

If Benh from 16v saw your mini he would be appalled by the extra weight its carrying. He has taken weight saving to the extreme on his mini. It only weighs just over 500kg with him in it. Carbon fibre roof, carbon rear bumper, fibre glass front, no front bumper, no interior except the driver's seat, rear beam axle not the original sub frame, rear disc conversion, a really light weight set of 10" alloys, lexan windows and I think he even put titanium wheel nuts on it just to save a few more grams.

He also has a 100+ bhp vauxhall engine in it.
