Ok guys all your suggestions are very helpful and we will take them all into account, But to anyone joining this conversation just now The current location is undecided we may stick with the car park next to the pool, but due to the amount of people that showed up we may choose a new location, but this is undecided at the current time we will let you know when we make a decision.

      Well said mate, exactly right!
I wanted to give myself a night off from the forum and facebook because i'm so tired, but I just can't keep away because the MCM community is so awesome!!!!

I'm currently looking into different locations to cater for more numbers.
We've had a couple of really good suggestions so far and I will follow them up.

Just for the record, we're not gonna have any combined meets with any other clubs ieownshift etc..That would be like buying a car that someone else modded and then taking the credit for work you didn't do. MCM meets will always be a stand alone event unless Marty and Moog tell me otherwise. We're gonna establish the QLD MCM community ourselves so we can stand alone and be proud of our achievements and not have to ride the coat tails of someone else. It's about Moog and Marty and MCM and the community that they've built up over 5 years and i'll be damned if we're gonna share that glory with some one else. And if anyone doesn't like it, then they can suck an massive cowboy condom filled with octopus scrotum and unicorn wang that's been lightly sauteed in a sauce of bottom juice!!!!!!!

A track day is something that we could think about for the future, but at the present until we get the whole a decent venue set up and we start getting solid number it probably won't happen for a little while,

Ok we got over 70 cars at the meet on Sunday so for the next meet I want to try and get 200+ cars. I think it's easily achievable considering we've still got over 2 weeks until out next meet.

We've had 2 really good suggestions so far for the location for the next meet. QSAC in Mains Rd (unfortunately QSAC has a couple of events booked on the 27/1 and I wasn't able to get permission to use the car park for that day), and the Park and Ride car park on Klump Rd. Both are really close to the motorway.

I had also thought about the the Mt Gravatt show ground and I'd made an enquiry about it and the cost is $500 for the day. Considering that the meet is at 2pm I think $500 is a bit steep because we're only going to be there for a short time. But they do have toilets and maybe we could get a BBQ happening. An option for that also would be an earlier start to the meet and have it go for a longer time, $2 entry for anyone coming in (which i was exactly wanting to avoid!) But perhaps we could do a bit of fundraising on the day with a BBQ and drinks for sale. Any money in excess of our costs would go towards paying for the venue again so that we could continually use it.

Anyway I'm going to put it to the forum to decide. Let's vote on it.
If anyone else knows of any ideal locations where there's no danger of being moved on mid way through a meet please post it up.
Votes close this Saturday at 12pm.
Please don't post up track days. We will eventually have one but not just yet.

                    Cheers
                    Tooza

apparently Mt Gravatt charge a lot.
So maybe try and find a showground that's not so expensive?

That's why Downshift have it at Rocklea, its way cheaper.

To make the $500 we'd need at least 250 people rocking up. While those numbers are possible, i think it'd be better not to get money involved until we have a solid, regular turn out.
I reckon start out 'small'. Try fill up the klumpp road park n ride (assuming we can use it). If we fill that place up easily, we'll know we can get 200 cars without a problem. After that, we can look into the mt gravatt show grounds.
Like you said, Tooza, i'd like to avoid bringing 'donation' type money into it. I reckon a BBQ+drinks would be mad though. I found myself getting pretty thirsty at the last one so a few cartons of drinks wouldn't hurt.
