  • Teen's New Car (Goodbye Civic)

This is my 1st and 1/2 car...(First was the Civic, but I barely got to use it)

    It's a White 2012 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.0T, the sportier version =D
It's a 6-speed auto (with paddle shifters) and is extremely roomy, I can actually stretch out my legs and still have more room (I'm 6' 5")...
At least it has a turbo, so modding capabilities = excellent
However, the ECU controls so much of the car that unless someone cracks it, there won't be any mods =(

Personally, I like the car...it looks nice and smooth, it's quick, and it gets good gas mileage even with a lead foot...
Don't bash on this car just because it's Hyundai (I'm looking at you "[email protected]")...they've changed a lot in my opinion...

Nice looking engine bay...the turbo and exhaust manifold is hidden behind the engine

    There's the intercooler, tiny...

Nice angle shot, should've moved farther back, but there was no room

    Mmmm...

Meh. The only Hyundai products I like at the moment are the Kia Forte and Hyundai Elantra (coupe and GT hatch only)
Project Tupperware: 2004 Saturn Ion, 2.2L Ecotec I4, 5 speed manual
Project Zombie: 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34, 3.4L "Twin Dual Cam" V6, 4 speed automatic

Hyundai has stepped their game up considerably in the last decade, coming from someone who hated on them a LOT back in the day, I would have no problem driving a new Hyundai. Congrats on the new ride man.

@Tommy, you like the Elantra coupe but not the Genesis coupe? Are you... high?

VERY interesting car! its crazy how Hyundai went from selling crap econoboxes, to turbo sedans and v6 anti-350Z

No I just forgot about the Genesis coupe. Forgive me. I still have a mindset of Hyundai making crappy econo-boxes. It's hard for me to associate them with a sportscar. For what it's worth, I DID like the old Tiburon.

If is FWD, it has a turbo, it has a functional E brake. You know what you must do.

It is a good first car, plus it is turbo and won't attract police attention.

Yea, but the e-brake is the foot one (uuughhh...)
And yea, won't attract police because it's a family sedan...

Is it ratcheting or does it have a handle you pull to release it?
