Looking after the cooling system on pre-AU Fords is a good practice. They are notorious for head gasket problems.

No pics but I changed the oil and filter, fuel filter and air filter, got a tonneau cover from repco and painted the fading trim around the windows black. She's running heaps smoother, better fuel economy and the tonneau and black trim make it look great.

When I get around to it Im doing new spark plugs and leads, flush the coolant, new brake pads and bleed the lines. It doesn't really need any of this stuff except for the brakes but Im just doing it anyway, for piece of mind I guess.

    It's registered!

    Passed blueslip with no issues.

Also I took the canopy off, got some seat covers and wiper blades and been driving it since Tuesday and its goin great so far.

This weekend I'll change the oil and filter and the fuel filter and I think everything else should be fine for now.

I found a lukey pipe on eBay that just bolts up and it's only $160 so I think I'll grab that, or take it to my muffler guy and get him to do something, I don't want it to be too loud just a bit of sound.

It's going in for a blue slip on Tuesday, the only leak I could see was a bit from the diff but it wasn't dripping so ill just clean it up first.

After it registered in gonna do a full service on it and get it running sweet

Yeah, I think it is the rearmost passenger door. That's why you can have stacks on Hilux's lol.

    But double check with authorities.

    No smartlock on XG's?
smartlock was only fitted to XG XR6' models when it was out at the time, XG XR6's are getting rare now.

On most utes the exhaust doesnt need to exit at the back of the vehicle so you can legally get away with dumping the exhaust before the diff
Lowering is on the cards, it sits very high. I'm not worried about the bumpers, ill re-black them tho.
You mean twin lights like the XR6 models? I don't like them much :P
So with the exhaust you mean I can just cut it off at the diff and leave it like that?

Nope, not sure why, my eb and Ed falcon both had it, maybe it was an option, either way it's not a big deal, I'd much prefer electric windows than central locking. There only 2 doors to deal with.

started a topic Ford Falcon XG ute

    Ford Falcon XG ute

I got this for free, it used to belong to my pop who passed away 4 years ago.

Only done 120,000k's and was always garaged, has no rust and I dont think he ever drove it over 60kph and took ages to get there :P

I'ts also got a limited slip diff and a towbar, its an S pack so its got a tacho and electric mirrors, new battery and new standard exhaust. Everything in it works and it runs well, it started up easily and just had a bit of a tappet tick until the oil got back up there and it went away.

    About the car:
    - 1993 Ford Falcon XG Ute S Pack
    - I'ts a 4.0L straight 6 with FI
    - 4-speed auto
    - Limited slip diff
    - about 145kw
    - weighs about 1500kg

    Plans for the future:
    - Remove the canopy coz I prefer the look without it.
    - Maybe fit electric windows and central locking
    - might put a diff back zorst for a bit more noise
    - new head deck and speakers

That's about it really! All I had to do was pick it up, clean it and get a blue slip which it will pass easy
