  • Mr Celicas Toy!

Bough stock as a rock as my first car back in November 2010. At the time i was still on my learners and was limited in the type of sporty first car to have due to NSW young driver restricitions, as well as price & safety standards. Can't go wrong with Toyota, so jumped on the oopertunity to own what is now known to me as "Shiba". Her name

2000 Model ZR celica with all the trimmings, sequential auto, 140 KW, sunroof & all that jazz. Packs a mean punch thanks to the VVLTI engine, while still being fuel efficient & of course, safe. Was happy to keep it stock thanks to possible unwanted police attention as well as insurance etc. The following mods include..

    -Black sunroof glass replacement
    -Red brake callippers.
-Parker lights & soon to be licence plate lights & headlight globes with blue/white globes.
-Short & stubby 3" Carbon Fibre radio antenna
-Mighty Car Mods sticker on the right side skirt
-Red number plates with my name on them.

So far, owning the car has been good & i've learnt allot with her both on & off the road. Much of this great photography here, is courtosy of our very own member, Manyu!

Thanks dude, that's about all that's being done to it. Don't really have any major future plans.

Regardless of what people say about it being a 'hairdresser car', a cool and clean car nonetheless, for all sexes!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it??

Thanks buddy, def does'nt drive like a "hairdressers" car. At the time the asking price was 12k considering it had just hit the 100,000k mark wich was descent, keeping in mind it was the ZR model, and others with greater mileage were around the 14k mark. Now i'm not too sure how much they go for. The reason they've held their value quite well in my own opinion is that because they're a sporty coupe that's powerful enough while still being P plate legal.

Haha, I'd have no doubt it drives like a sporty coupe, it's a toyota

Yeah I think 12k is a fair price for the ZR, along with the mileage definitely!

Needs that chop to come to life. Even with just drifteks...

But no offence, for 12k you can get slot better cars which are just as sporty.... Fuel efficiency is up to the driver. A M3 will used less fuel doing 60km/h then a prias...

The celica offered safety of four Air Bags as well as the peace of mind knowing that it's a Toyota and parts would be easy if needed. There were other options but at the time, i did'nt and did not plan to in the future, drive manual so Integra Type R'z and the like were out of the picture. If i had the chance again, i would've gone for a manual but yeah, given the condition, KMs & circumstances, it was a good buy.

                        Yeah that's fair enough.

It's a sad fact that I got given my car and it's an automatic, but I'm the only one in my family that can drive manual

I love it. Keep it clean an dont ruin it with stupid mods, although it does look raw as balls with the black driftteks dude, they would definately be a worthwhile investment.
