  • Honda Civic Panda Build.

hello well im new here, and I've been working on this car for about two years now .So Im gonna go back to the day one of this car.

I wanted a good and cheap car to run plus jdm , so i started to look for a EG or EK civic. but I fell in love with this picture on google and said to myself, "I want a EK"

    Honda Civic 1999 EK1
    (facelift)

    DAY ONE:
stock as a rock besides a unpainted grill and a cannon.I knew progress was gonna be slow due to I was working at burger king for 2-3 days a week at 17 , it was not much money lol.
    +1 for the steelies

    TWO OR THREE WEEKS LATER
progress was kinda picking up. I saved up for a front lip which was $130 from JDMyard, bought a EJ8 cluster with RPM due to my one didn't have a RPM gauge =( also made a short ram pipe and a pod which I had in my garage =)

    Photo0184.jpg
Photo0192.jpg << also rocket cover has been sanded and painted red. . cause it goes faster

    2MONTHS LATER
got some JDM foggies from japan it was a BIT#H wiring it up and cutting the bumper (worst project ever)

                Car looks really nice

I wouldn't say the c pillar bar and the Beaks bar are useless. I have heaps of bracing on my FN2 and even though you can't fell a massive difference to the handling of the car while your driving in normal situations, when you push the cars hard you notice it. Can't wait to see more of this build

Wait. im confused. 1991 EK? I thought EK's were only 6th Gen (96-00)
That's my practically affordably possible dream car though; a civic EK hatch. Definite props !
                    Good luck with your build!

To be honest, before you painted your rims green; your civic was as simply clean as I would've wanted mine to be; minus the now tow-hook-toy; and the stickers.
Then again, it's your , your beautiful car, but I felt like it was necessary for me to point out my opinion.
and please, please don't raise the wing like this:
                        http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...0/8af67173.jpg
other than that; i'm very very jealous! When are you going to work on performance? What's under the hood now?
Good good luck, I'd definitely be following this build!

JDM-Dereck, I like hondas and love to help on this project. I used to have a 99-00 Civic Coupe a few years a go, also wanted to build my own Panda Civic. I'll post some pics of the car that inspired me to do it...

If you dont mind me asking what size engine is this. Being from England finding a Decent looking car with a small engine is hard considering I got a quote for a Peugeot 206 1.4l or 6k which was like 500 a month to pay off -.- being a full time student I can only get part time work and id only just say scrape 500 at the most. then no money for petrol.

The regular civic hatchback 96-00 has a stock 1.4 sohc 4 cylinder engine that pulls around 105hp stock (d16y7)
The jdm type r civic hatchback (ek) of the same style as the regular has a 1.6 dohc 4 cylinder engine that can pull I think 150hp+ stock. (b16b)
