Half fixed the AF issue on my lens on previous page. It is now able to AF, but it tracks a lot, and the AF does not seem to go all the way. The lens focuses between say 1.5m and 3m mark in one revolution. It is able to focus on other distances, but it takes a while to get there.

Any ideas?

Or just sell it?

50mm f1.8, a nice lens. 50mm f1.4, a great lens. 50mm 1.2, an "I wish I could afford" lens... the 50mm f1.8 will definitely give you some nice, clean shots! worth the money for either starting out or just taking casual shots. the 50mm f1.4 is pretty damn good (IMO), but if you're not really thinking of going bokeh-licious, the f1.8 will suffice

should be picking up my 7D tomorrow, can't wait! i also can't wait to get my hands on a 30mm f1.4 lens!

Watch digitalrev Im guessing haha~~ I wish i could afford the 1.4 ( well I could but need sprinter stuff lol) but i will give the 1.8 a go with the 7D if i like it I will save up for the 1.4...

I only really want to bring 2 lens with me to japan. the 90-300mm F4.5-F5.6 lens i got is ok (for the price i paid for its MAAAAAAAAD) but I want a something a little more better lol

When I went on my trip 2 months ago, I got teh most use out of the wider lenses and the 50mm was useful for low light.

Why go for the 50mm f1.4 from Canon, when you could get a old manual f1.4 or even a f1.2 for less than the price of the digitial f1.4.

17-85mm could be just the one lens you'd need. USM will make every other AF system feel slow and noisy. And youve also got IS.

Although it is kinda expensive. Just use what youve got, and itll be fine.

USM + IS = amazing.
