  • Previous Owner 2WISTD

    Hi,

I used to be a previous owner of 2WISTD for about 5 years, for the past 3 or so years it hasn't ran & has sat underneath a car cover until i recently decided to sell it. I'm extremely interested to see what was actually wrong with it.

it's a very dodgy car to drive but will easily smash 2SEXY.

Welcome to the MCM forums Boycee

It's a very dodgy car to drive, great start! hahahah! joking aside it's probably the wheels, I don't think they'd contribute to the handling credentials anyway!
I stripped my car out so much it now has 49/49 weight distribution.

      Cheers!

it's more so the torque steer.. first & second gear would just spin but once in third it would want to steer you off the road lol.

also the rear has been tubbed... they have just cut out part of the inside rear quarter panel to make the tub with no reinforcement. I'm no engineer, just looked dodgy hah

Tubbing is pretty common. Did it use to have air ride? There's usually not much strength in standard wheel arches anyway

Nah it’s sitting on coil overs front and back.

was one of the lowest static cars back in the day.

Ever Driven a serious 25psi boosted 80's Cordia Turbo? Broken wrist stuff hey, why Mitsubishi turned the engines around in the engine bay! Dynamics of engine rotation and forward movement, still remember that light pole at the other side of the intersection that got in the way hey! Why 2sexy's got it down pat!!!

That must have been a challenge to drive or a pain to raise it for driving.

Not my style of car but massive respect for that

Wasn’t my first choice of a car I used to have a cammed vy ls1 as my daily. Only reason I had it to was because I picked it up cheap.

i actually sold it for $500 about 6 months ago then it done the rounds on Facebook. By the looks of it I could of deffiently got more but just cba at the time lol.

Did it just stop running suddenly when you owned it? break down?

If what you say is true, and what moog says he paid for the car is true, that means whoever you sold it to managed to make $3500 on a non running FWD lancer with an evo engine. lol #moog #chopped ???

It blew a head gasket, I got it fixed along with a few other small things then within a week it started playing up again & I got over it.

I sold it without keys, no rego, not running + i needed it gone as I no longer had the room for it.

it also was having battery issues, it kept draining them flat. I don’t know why someone has put a battery in the engine bay when the battery is in the boot with an isolator underneath the car.

The engine had over 10k spent on it, mind you this is over 10 years ago hah. It went hard, with a good ecu you could control the boost at lot better in the lower gears.

i could provide the last VIN digits if any dought of previous ownership

Was it running when you got it? Did you drive it much?
I'm guessing the second battery would have been for running the stereo and amps while at car shows.

It only had the one battery in the boot, since selling it someone has put one in the engine bay. I had upgraded the battery to help it from going flat then eventually installed the isolator switch because if it went flat you couldn’t unlock the car with the remote to get into the boot to charge to battery, you had to break into the car lol.

Yeah it was running for a couple of years, I didn’t drive it often because the front diff is locked & is terrible to drive around corners.

ive got a feeling they will have a hard time trying to register it, I believe the engineer certificate is no longer valid as they laws changed? I could be wrong tho.

the engineer report was definitely questionable, the brakes had so much trouble pulling the car up after a run... as you could prob tell with drum brakes hah

locked diff on a FWD car is never a good idea, I've seen it done on FWD drag cars but not for any other reason.

I'm not usre about the laws for mods on engineering, I didn't know you would have to re-engineer a car if the laws changed

I cant imagine that car would corner well as I found out on a drift car with locked rear. Also WELCOME. sorry to be late to the party. Ive been getting my own nugget ready.
