  • New around here,

Hello everyone, i'm new around here. Normally i don't do forums or stuff like that but i thought why not?

My Alias is; MultiDutch and i'm 20 years old and i live in The Netherlands
    I drive a Peugeot 306 XN 1.4 from 1997,
Since i was young i dreamed of owning a car like this because i was really into rally at the time with the 106 and 306 being my favorites.

    Thanks for having me around!

    Welcome to the MCM forums

The TU is a brilliant engine! 95-100hp possible with a camshaft change and a better exhaust
I stripped my car out so much it now has 49/49 weight distribution.

That sounds like a great project! I was looking around for any ways to make more HP and quickly decided my engine is not turbo worthy.

Also, does anyone have some tips on cleaning of minor rust spots under my rear lights?

      Thanks in advance!

Not true, you can turbocharge the 1.4 TU unit. For reliability I'd keep it below 140hp. oil temp and pressure is a BIG thing with these engines. you need a large thermostatic oil cooler.

If you want to go down a cheap turbo route, get a 1.6 16v engine from a saxo or similar (J4 engine) and they can be turbocharged reliably to 220-250hp. As long as you are smooth with the gearbox, they can take it too, otherwise you'll need to fit a gearbox and clutch setup from a car which has a BE gearbox with TU engine. I think some picasso gearboxes etc.

Still, OEM parts which are easy top obtain and relatively cheap.
