  • Supra body kit help?

    Hey all,

    I'm doing a small job of finding a bodykit for my cousin's Mark 4 Toyota Supra. He says he wants a front lip, rear spats and side skirts. I thought this was gonna be easy so undertook the job. WRONG. I have no idea on what to do so I sat down and did some thinking.

    So what I did first was ask around, check magazines and see who fabricates body parts. Then, I thought that lemme put myself in the fabricator's shoes and ask my cousin questions like "So do you want carbon fiber or fiberglass?" "Do you want them painted or not?" "Are you going to leave the car there?" (The car is currently being modified so BOOM Problem time) Then lastly, I need reference pictures to get an idea of what he wants.

    I want to make sure this is good because I don't want to suddenly phone these fabricators then suddenly I don't give enough information, a bad job gets done then we both look like idiots.

    Am I on the right track? Some advice please

    You probably want a urethane kit, not fiberglass or carbon, and colormatched to the car would work best. A MKIV owner i know recommends ridox aero, or trial as far as kits, unless you already have a kit.

      Hmmm, alright, then should I just ask what's the best material according to them? The thing is he wants the kit made from scratch. Not a ready made one.

        Urethane bends if you bump something, fiberglass...not so much. For something you can make, fiberglass supplies are easy to find compare to other methods but they won't be as forgiving if you get bumped.

          I'll check and see what he wants, but I'm gonna phone the fabricators in my next lecture break and see what they have to offer. I'll ask if they can make urethane

            There's a front lip, side skirts and rear spats in there somewhere :P

                Check out Ash2jz and FST02J's Supras. Both use the same lip, probably skirts too. Also TRD wing ftw.

                  Lmao sorry I took so long to find this thread

                  Ok the image is of a full top secret kit it's a wide body kit and costs alot
                  Most shops will want to make a custom kit out of Fiberglass
                  Sounds like the ridox kit would be what he is after maybe the trail rear bar or full ridox with ts de***er

                  That bonnet is a top secret you can get carbon copies for about 850

                  The wing is a gt300 item brand has lost my mind sard maybe and cost a lot but one of the best available

                  Our front lip is a MVP lip or wings west lip

                    If I wasnt on the iPhOne I'd upload some pics (post some up tomorrow) but find some more Images of what your after and I'll tell you want they are

                      His car is just a daily. The car in your avatar is pretty much the kind of body kit he wants. I'm phoning the fabricators just now and I'm getting a quote but thanks for the help guys

                        Dude all that is is the MVP lip with is available in polyurethane or carbon and a Trd rear wing check out my members ride wing not on yet and paint isn't quite done but ull get the idea

                          Oh and wheels are a massive thing on a supra and easy to get wrong so I'd recommend some nose offseted 18s or 19s work meisters or ssr professor sp1s ccw classics

                          8"-9.5" front 10"-11.5" rear send me a pm for offsets after you chose wheels and widths

                            I don't really know much on body kits and measurements etc, but I think the ones that would look the best are:

                            TRD - Widebody Kit



                            And the BOMEX kit, good wheels are a must with this kit, otherwise it would look like a big truck. (Big body, tiny wheels) (IMO)

                              I looked those parts up and showed him. That's what he wants pretty much. My bro found a fabricator so they're gonna get the parts made soon. LOL I knew AUSupra was gonna chime into this thread I've got a few pictures of what the car looks like now. I'll post them up later
