  • How does Adaptive Cruise Control work?

It operates by using a camera and either a radar or a laser, depending on the manufacturer. The radar delivers signals in front of the car that aid the system in determining the distance between the vehicles in front of it. Radar, on the other hand, isn't good enough to tell what kind of obstruction is in front of the car.

As a result, it collaborates with a camera that detects the images. Because a camera isn't the best way to determine distance, it needs to be supplemented with either a radar or a laser. Both of the aforementioned mechanisms are what allow Adaptive Cruise Control to function to the point where drivers can be confident in its use.

By controlling vehicle speed automatically and maintaining a minimum distance with the vehicle ahead, it can lessen the stress for the driver.
